The Highland County Arts Council received its third grant from the Community Foundation of the Central Blue Ridge.  The Grant is another investment the Foundation makes in the quality of life in Highland County.

According to Jason Canze, the Council’s president, the grant ensures that Highland County and the region will have another season of professional music and theatre performances. “Because of the Foundation’s funding, we will again offer an incredible range of music styles, from Classical and Blue Grass to Jazz and Blues.  And we can make it available at an unbelievably low admission fee.”

The new season will begin in September on the second Saturday of the month and continue to June 2020.  The performances will be at 7 p.m. at the Highland Center.

The Fall season will open on September 14th with the return of the popular square dance.  It will be followed on October 12th with a memorial concert for the McCoy Sisters by The Original Rhondels.  On November 9th, the Council will celebrate its 27th anniversary with a performance by the Richard Williams Trio and local talent.  The December 14th production of Exchange of Gifts, a play by Dwayne Yancey will complete the fall season.
