Get ready for a fun-filled evening of square dancing! On Saturday, September 14th, callers Ellen and Eugene Ratcliffe will lead you on your way as the featured band, Juanita Fireball and the Continental Drifters, get your feet moving. The square dance begins at 7:00 p.m. and will be held at The Highland Center in Monterey, VA.

Juanita Fireball and the Continental Drifters debuted at the Pocahontas Opera House in 2008, although they have been making music together in one form or another for twenty-five years.   They play the Appalachian string band tunes that they learned years ago from old-timers in West Virginia, Virginia and North Carolina, and sing songs about animals, outlaws, fruit, and love, with a few gospel numbers for balance.
The band consists of Mike Burns and Jay Lockman on twin fiddles, Mary Sue Burns on clawhammer banjo, Wayne Walton on the doghouse bass, and John Sparks and Terry Richardson on guitar.
