What’s love got to do with it?  Everything!  Jump start your romantic Valentine’s weekend with “Hooray for Love,” an evening of love songs performed by renowned vocalists, Lewis Freeman and Elizabeth Kluegel.  Featuring songs from Opera,  The American Songbook, Leonard Bernstein, and Stephen Sondheim, this performance is sure to warm your heart.  “Hooray for Love!” will begin at 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 15th at The Highland Center.  Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students aged 15-18, and free for children under 15.
Lewis Freeman, baritone, has performed in over 70 roles in opera and theatre. He has soloed with the Washington National Opera, National Symphony Mozart Weekend, Columbus (OH) Symphony, Washington Bach Consort, Cathedral Choral Society, IN Series, Greenville (SC) Symphony Orchestra, and Detmolder Jugendorchester of Detmold, Germany.  His operatic roles have included Don Pasquale, Germont, Don Bartolo and Mikado.  As an actor he is an Associate Artist with Constellation Theatre of Washington.  Lew teaches voice privately.
Elizabeth Kluegel, soprano, has sung with the National Symphony Orchestra, Virginia Opera, Kennedy Center Orchestra, Ravinia Festival in Chicago, Dayton Opera, Monadnock Music Festival in Vermont, Reinzanaka Recital Series in Tokyo, IBIS Chamber Music Society and Master Chorale of Washington.  A graduate of Indiana University, she was a National Finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council auditions.  Elizabeth is Director of Music at Rock Spring United Church of Christ in Arlington. She maintains a private voice studio in Arlington and Alexandria.
Edward Roberts, piano, is an active vocal accompanist and coach in the Washington area. He has conducted operas for companies in the Boston and Washington areas and was on the faculty of the Boston Conservatory of Music.  Performance venues as pianist and conductor include the Kennedy Center, Lisner Auditorium, Strathmore Hall, and the Barns of Wolf Trap.  Ed is the Assistant Music Director and Organist at Rock Spring Church.
